People of Kochi got a rare chance to listen to and learn about the music of the Irula tribe of Attappady and Kattunaykkar of Wayanadu during ARPO Earthlore Music Fest, held on May 28 and 29, 2022.
In the first season of Earthlore, the two communities collaborated with professional musicians Charu Hariharan, Sreekanth Hariharan, and Julian Schoming to produce music tracks and videos that showcase their songs and culture. The video production had already taken place at the end of March.
Following this, the tribal musicians were brought to Kochi to participate in the Earthlore Music Fest, 2022. The fest involved a Tribal Music Workshop and a public concert.
The music workshop featuring speakers from the communities took place on May 28, for a closer glimpse into their lives and culture, at David Hall, Fort Kochi. The public concert where the indigenous and international musicians shared the stage for a riveting performance was held on May 29, at KTDC Bolgatty Palace.
The new logo of ARPO Earthlore was unveiled at the event, along with the music video of Irular community we produced as a part of Earthlore. Music director Bijibal M and MD & CEO of Experion Technologies Binu Jacob were the main guests.
